| The Famous Everest Basecamp Trek - 19 Days | ||
This is the classic trek through the Khumbu to Everest Base Camp. We climb Kala Pattar (5545m) for superb views of Everest & Nuptse. The trekking on this trip is generally easy along spectacular and well constucted and trodden paths. In addition to the classic trek we include other little side visits to many points of interest and we include an optional ascent of Nagartsang Peak (5083m) which provides us with awesome views especially of Makalu to the East. Our trip is not the normal Everest Base Camp Trek like most other companies offer - we provide so much more! |

We fly into the mountain airstrip at Lukla and trek north along the banks of the Dudh Kosi river. All along the route colourful prayer flags, chortens and mani stones dot the landscape, and as a backdrop we have breathtaking views of peaks such as Thamserku, Kang Tega and Kusum Kangru on our first day. Arriving at Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital on our second day, it is here that we spend a few days to assist with our acclimatising. From here on our itinerary is structured to allow as much time as possible for acclimatisation, and we will spend the next few days gaining height very gradually. which allows us time to enjoy the amazing scenery, wildlife and interesting culture of the Khumbu. Peaks including Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Lhotse line our route, and as we continue to ascend through the small settlements at Periche, Lobuche and Gorak Shep the scenery becomes even more spectacular, with Pumori, Lingtren and Changtse all becoming visible. |

From Gorak Shep we are able to climb Kala Pattar for the classic views of Everest. From Gorak Shep we make the relatively demanding trek along the Khumbu Glacier to Everest Base Camp where we close hand can view the tumbling seracs of the Khumbu ice fall that pours out from the western cwm and marvel at how thousands of people have painstakingly negotiated this hazardous rampart trying to climb to the highest point on the planet. This trek is on a tea house basis which allows you to experience living with the charming local Sherpa people who always welcome you with a big warm smile. Our package offers so much more that the average Everest BC Trek - click on our itinerary for details. You will be amazed at the level of service we offer. |
